Review
“Making Embedded Systems” by Elecia White is a system-level approach to device design. On just around 300 pages, the author gives a lot of valuable insight into design on the system level, starting with system architecture over hardware considerations to more complex systems with timers, communication interfaces and up to coding with bootloaders. The book concludes with a chapter about speed and power consumption- recent microelectronics are breathtakingly efficient.
The book also comes with sample interview questions for every chapter that give additional insight. I liked the higly condensed “Making Embedded Systems”, but it’s not easy to stomach without some previously accquired knowledge of embedded systems.
